10th Feb 2009

Today in comparison to yesterday has been very quiet. We toured round NAPIER this morning. For those who do not know NAPIER is a town that was destroyed by an earthquake (7.8 on the Richter Scale) in 1931. The town was rebuilt in Art Deco style and today all of the town retains the art deco image.
We then drove to Wellington and got booked to sail to the south island tomorrow. The drive was uneventfull for most of the way until the last few miles. We had to cross a mountain range and this involved some very steep climbs and descents with crazy hairpin bends. Got to the campsite, had dinner and caught up with Blog Pictures.
